Von Ruthie PetitFrere
- BSA President
What is your career goal? My ultimate career goal is to be the head of an international human rights non-profit that completes work in Haiti, eradicating social injustices and aiding in the creation of policies that instill long-term change for the betterment of Haitian society.
Why are you inspired by BSA and diversity in international affairs? International affairs is an inherently diverse program of study, yet, often times, those who determine development policies, foreign policy, or answer to international crises, do not adequately represent those who are largely impacted by global challenges. BSA is a platform for all minority students to be encouraged and validated in their unique experiences and perspectives. I'm motivated by BSA's desire to highlight the contributions of black professionals in the field of international affairs and hope to emphasize the necessity of representation. Ultimately, I hope that the School of International Affairs' students can be inspired and esteemed by these contributions, recognizing their potential to do the same.
