Students, faculty, and staff honored at pre-commencement ceremony

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Two School of International Affairs students, a faculty member, and a staff member were recognized and given awards at the SIA pre-commencement ceremony on May 8.

Graduating student Annjulie Vester received the SIA Academic Achievement Award, which is given “to a graduating SIA student who demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.” Kaitlynn Ward received the SIA Leadership Award given “to a graduating
SIA student who demonstrated exceptional leadership.” These two students were nominated by SIA faculty and staff for these awards.

The SIA student body voted on one faculty member and one staff member of the year who went above and beyond with their professional obligations to SIA students. Professor Johannes W. Fedderke won 2016 Faculty Member of the Year and Academic Adviser Claudia Prieto won 2016 Staff Member of the Year.
