UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Amy Fellin Caputo, an accomplished marketing and communications professional with more than 30 years of experience, has been named director of marketing and communications for Penn State Law and the School of International Affairs (SIA).

Caputo joins the law school and SIA from the Penn State Alumni Association, where she served as executive director of strategic communications since 2007. In this role, she led a team of 14 communications, marketing, digital, and creative professionals in strengthening the reach and image of the world’s largest dues-paying alumni association.

Before to returning to Penn State, her alma mater, Caputo spent eight years in marketing and communications for a full-service, 300-plus-attorney law firm with offices in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and London. During her three years as director of marketing at the firm, she led a 16-member team responsible for firmwide marketing, communications, business development, client relations, and attorney coaching functions.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Amy Fellin Caputo to the leadership team at Penn State Law and the School of International Affairs,” said Hari M. Osofsky, dean of the two schools. “Her past record of marketing success at the Penn State Alumni Association and an international law firm, in addition to her other valuable experience, uniquely qualify her for this important position at our schools. We are delighted to have such an accomplished marketing and communications leader joining our team.”

Prior to joining the law firm in 1999, Caputo worked as a publications editor, director of communications, creative services manager, graphic designer, copy editor, and reporter.

She currently serves as immediate past president of the board of directors of the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts and a board member of Centre Helps. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, a past officer of Altrusa International of Centre County, and a past member of the Legal Marketing Association.

Caputo holds a master’s degree in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State.

At Penn State Law and the School of International Affairs, Caputo serves as a member of the two schools’ leadership teams and leads a team of marketing and communications professionals responsible for designing, planning, and executing the strategic marketing initiatives for both schools in support of their ambitious strategic plans.
