Our Open House is for admitted students to learn more about our program and resources, meet our outstanding faculty and staff, engage with future classmates, and explore how SIA helps students reach their academic and professional goals.

Sunday, April 5

3:00 p.m. — Check-In: Hyatt Place, 219 West Beaver Avenue, State College, PA, 16801

6:00 p.m. — Conversation and Hors D'Oeuvres with Professor Herbert Wolfe

  • Join Professor Herbert Wolfe (Director and Acting Chief of Staff of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, U.S. Department of Homeland Security), SIA Director Scott Gartner, and current students for a meet and greet over appetizers in the Hyatt Place hotel. (This event, while encouraged, is optional and a nonrefundable expense.) Business professional attire.

Monday, April 6

8:00 a.m. — Transportation to the Lewis Katz Building

  • Two SIA Student Ambassadors will meet you in the lobby of the Hyatt Place to escort you to a nearby bus stop that will take you to campus, where you will have a short walk to the Lewis Katz Building. Please meet the ambassadors in the lobby no later than 8:00 a.m.

8:30 - 9:00 a.m. — Check-In/Distribution of Information Packets & Nametags

  • Atrium, Lewis Katz Building
  • Assorted breakfast items and beverages will be provided

9:00 - 9:30 a.m. — Welcome and Introductions

  • Sutliff Auditorium, Lewis Katz Building
  • Dr. Scott Gartner, Director and Professor of International Affairs
  • Ms. Christie Persio, Director of Admissions
  • Mr. Grant Littke, Director of Career Services
  • Ms. Claudia Prieto, Director of Academic Advising and Student Affairs

9:30 - 11:00 a.m. — Informal Meetings with SIA Faculty and Staff

  • Faculty offices, Lewis Katz Building

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. — Faculty Presentation

  • Sutliff Auditorium, Lewis Katz Building

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. — Lunch

  • Atrium, Lewis Katz Building

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. — Student Panel

  • Sutliff Auditorium, Lewis Katz Building

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. — Resource Fair & Tour of Lewis Katz Building Available

  • Atrium, Lewis Katz Building

3:00 - 5:00 p.m. — Free Time

  • Downtime prior to dinner

5:00 - 7:00 p.m. — Dinner

  • Hyatt Place
  • Join faculty, staff, and current students. Cash bar begins at 5:00 p.m., buffet dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. Business professional attire.

Tuesday, April 7

9:00 a.m. — Wrap-Up Breakfast (Optional)
