The following presentations are a part of the Fall 2024 SIA Colloquium series, taking place every Thursday starting August 29 from 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. in Katz 118, The Auditorium.

August 29 - John S. Creamer, Professor of Practice will host a talk titled “What is Globalization?”

September 5 - Ambassador (ret) Michael McKinley will host a talk on Globalization, Poverty and Inequality.

September 12 - Andrew Selee, President, Migration Policy Institute, will host a talk on Population, Nation States and Migration.

September 19 - Harvey Rishikof will host a talk on Cyber, AI, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

September 26 - Dr. Richard Alley, Evan Pugh University Professor of Geosciences at Penn State, will host a talk on Climate Change.

October 3 - Dr. Herbert Ott Wolfe, Affiliate Faculty, SIA, will host a talk on Pandemics and Health Security.

October 10 - Dr. Christopher Beem, Associate Research Professor and Managing Director, McCourtney Institute for Democracy, Penn State, will host a talk on Democracy in Trouble.

October 17 - Bruce Abrams, Former USAID Mexico Director and Senior Foreign Service Officer, will host a talk on Development Assistance and Democratic Institutions.

October 24 - Dr. Matthew Dearing, Professor of International Security Studies, College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University, will host a talk on Transnational Crime and Terrorism.

October 31 - Jorge Castaneda, former Foreign Minister of Mexico, will host a talk on Globalization and Great Power Competition seen from the Global South.

November 7 - Ambassador (ret) Thomas Shannon will host a talk on Globalization & Great Power Competition.

November 14 - Dina Temple Raston, Host of the Podcast “Click Here” and Award-Winning Author, will host a talk on Disinformation.

November 21 - Kimberly Brier, Former Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Department of State, will host a talk on U.S. policy and Latin America.

December 5 - (TO BE DETERMINED) Dr. Mare Sarr, Associate Professor of International Affairs and African Studies, SIA, will host a talk on Africa and the World.
