Join in on a presentation and discussion by Dan Folk, U.S. Defense Analyst, on Friday, November 15th at 1:30 p.m. in 232 Katz. He will be speaking on the shifting patterns of global politics. Folk is a defense analyst currently assigned as the morning briefer and liaison officer to the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. In his current position Dan interacts with senior DoD policymakers on a daily basis. Dan has almost 20 years of experience in the intelligence community having previously served as the senior intelligence analyst in support of the Commander, Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan, and the Deputy Defense Intelligence Officer for South Asia at the Pentagon. He has experience working as an all-source analyst at the tactical, division, and combatant command levels, and as a tactical SIGINT team member embedded with U.S. Army infantry and special forces during combat operations in southern and eastern Afghanistan. Mr. Folk is a veteran who spent time in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft re-fueler, the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic technician, and the Virginia Army National Guard as an all-source analyst supporting the state’s emergency CBRNE response team. As a student veteran, and PSUVO member, Dan completed his BA in international politics at Penn State University in May of 2019, and is currently pursuing his MA in Public Management through Johns Hopkins University.
