Matt Reed is the Global Director of Institutional Partnerships for the Aga Khan Foundation, responsible for coordinating AKF’s strategic relationships with governments, multilaterals, foundations and corporations. He has been CEO of AKF in the UK since 2016.

Matt has worked with the Aga Khan Development Network since 2009, serving as Director of Programmes at AKF (UK) in London and as CEO of AKF (India) in Delhi. Previously, he was Associate Vice President and Secretary to the Board of the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences at the Claremont Colleges; Assistant to the President at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; and a Program Director at the Salzburg Seminar in Austria.

Matt Reed has a Ph.D. in European History and an M.A. in European Studies from Claremont Graduate University. During his graduate work, he was affiliated with the Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales in Paris. His B.A. is in English, summa cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma.
