Antjie Krog, a South African writer, scholar, and activist, covered the post-Apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission and wrote the book Country of My Skull about her reflections on the process and the possibility for true reconciliation in South Africa. Krog is currently a member of the faculty of Arts at the University of the Western Cape. Her most recent work is a book of poetry entitled Pillage, a treatment of acts of pillaging by nature, humans, and time.
