I am originally from Lebanon, PA and chose to start my college career at Penn State in 2016. As an integrated undergraduate-graduate (IUG) student here at Penn State, I am simultaneously completing my undergraduate degrees in International Politics and Advertising/Public Relations while pursuing a Master of International Affairs. The flexibility that SIA offers its students has led me to create my own concentration in nontraditional security and international conflict, which is focused on understanding how issues like global health and climate change prove to be modern security threats. I am also a Paterno Fellow and Schreyer Honors Scholar at Penn State as I complete minors in Latin American Studies and History.
I chose to pursue my graduate degree at SIA alongside my undergraduate education because of the incredible learning experience it offers me. Experienced faculty and a diverse cohort have helped me expand my understanding of international relations and other cultures. SIA has allowed me to grow professionally and to concentrate my studies on specific issues that interest me because of the degree flexibility. I have also been able to challenge myself with statistics and other quantitative classes that count towards my degree and help me stand out as a professional candidate. All-in-all, SIA is an amazing graduate school that puts its students’ interests and goals first.
