International Students contribute greatly to the vibrant global community at Penn State SIA, and we are excited to meet you. In order to assure your smooth arrival, please be sure to read all of the information below.
There are two steps to confirm your enrollment. First, submit your tuition deposit through SIA's online payment form by April 15, 2020. Second, visit the Penn State Graduate School portal to formally accept your offer of admittance. Both are required; the payment is needed to reserve your seat, while confirming your acceptance with the Graduate School will allow them to notify you of any required documentation and contact international students regarding the visa process.
The Directorate of International Students and Scholars Advising (DISSA) is the Penn State equivalent of the International Students Office. DISSA will be your primary contact regarding all travel, visa, and required documentation procedures. We encourage you to explore and thoroughly read their extensive website.
Visas and other documents
Visit the pre-arrival section of DISSA's website for more information regarding F-1 and J-1 visas, health insurance, and other important documents.
Employment for F-1 and J-1 students is limited. However, on-campus employment is permitted with certain restrictions. Penn State SIA offers several hourly wage opportunities and we encourage you to explore other opportunities on the Penn State jobs website.
DISSA provides extensive employment information for international students.
International students have extra required orientation programing. Please check our admitted students timeline for additional information.
