- 4 required courses; 7 weeks of course instruction; 6 weeks of internship/research
- Advanced Spanish Grammar and Writing OR Introduction to Latin American Cultures
- Historical and Political Context of Ecuador
- International Development (students 1 development theme)
- Social Entrepreneurship and Microfinance
- Public Health and Traditional Andean Medicine
- Human Rights: Policy and Practice
- Environmental Challenges from the Andes to the Amazon
- Community Engagement (6-week internship or research project, can be used to meet Capstone requirement)
Foreign Language Courses: Advanced Spanish; an optional Intensive Spanish course is offered prior to the semester for an additional cost
Housing: Homestay; Breakfast and dinner provided daily
Internship option: Yes; Internship locations are within a 3-hour radius of Quito; 150-180 hours per semester at internship site, may count for Capstone credit
Research option: Yes; 150-180 hours per semester at research site, may count for Capstone credit
