First approved by Penn State's Board of Trustees in January 2007,
the Penn State School of International Affairs was officially
launched on July 1, 2007. Penn State's School of International Affairs is highly interdisciplinary
and draws extensively upon the intellectual resources of faculty
in several academic colleges of the University. The School of International Affairs offers a
professional master's degree in international affairs with several
specialty concentrations. Its mission is to prepare exceptional
students for careers and leadership positions in both the private
and public sectors of an increasingly interdependent world.
The School of International Affairs is housed administratively within Penn State's Dickinson
School of Law and will operate under the guidance of Tiyanjana
Maluwa, its inaugural Director and the law school's H. Laddie
Montague Chair in Law, and a faculty governing
council composed of leading faculty from some of Penn State's
top graduate departments.
